AI Agent - Automated CV Resume Screening, Sorting, Rating, and Tracker System
This advanced n8n workflow leverages an AI agent to intelligently analyze and rate candidate CVs and resumes against a specified job description. It automates the entire screening process from ingestion to notification, ensuring fast, accurate, and consistent candidate evaluation.
Key Features
- Automated Resume Ingestion: Automatically detects and processes new PDF resumes uploaded to a designated Google Drive folder.
- AI-Powered Candidate Evaluation: An AI agent (Groq/Llama-4) compares resumes against a Google Docs job description, providing a decision (Rejected/KIV/Shortlisted), reason, and score.
- Intelligent Candidate Sorting: Resumes are automatically moved to corresponding 'REJECTED', 'KIV', or 'SHORTLISTED' folders in Google Drive.
- Real-time Tracker Updates: A Google Sheet candidate tracker is automatically updated with the AI's verdict, score, and reason.
- Automated Candidate Notifications: Personalized email notifications are sent via Gmail to inform candidates of their application status.
How It Works
The workflow is triggered each time a new PDF resume is uploaded to your designated 'Unfiltered' Google Drive folder. It then proceeds to download and extract the text content from the resume. Concurrently, it fetches the latest job description from a specified Google Docs document.
An AI agent, acting as an expert backend principal engineer, compares the candidate's resume against the job description. It generates a decision (REJECTED, KIV, or SHORTLISTED), a reason for the decision, and a numerical score. Based on this AI verdict, the original resume file is automatically moved to the appropriate subfolder in Google Drive (e.g., 'REJECTED').
Simultaneously, the AI's findings (score, verdict, reason, and candidate name) are used to update your Google Sheets candidate tracker, ensuring a centralized record. Finally, a personalized email notification is composed and sent to the candidate, informing them of their application status and the AI's reason.
