How It Works

This workflow operates as a two-part system: a main AI agent and a supporting sub-workflow acting as a custom tool.

1. Chat Trigger: The main workflow is activated when a user sends a message to the n8n chat interface.
2. AI Agent Processing: An intelligent AI Agent (powered by an OpenAI Chat Model and equipped with memory) analyzes the user's request.
3. Custom Tool Invocation: If the AI agent determines the user is seeking activity ideas, it calls the "Activity Tool" (a designated sub-workflow).
4. Information Extraction: The sub-workflow takes the user's chat input and uses another OpenAI Chat Model with an Information Extractor to accurately identify parameters like desired activity type (e.g., "learning something new" becomes "education") and number of participants.
5. API Call: These extracted parameters are then used to query the public Bored API (https://bored-api.appbrewery.com/filter), fetching a suitable activity.
6. Response Delivery: The activity suggestion is then returned from the sub-workflow to the main AI agent, which formats it and responds to the user in the chat.
