How It Works

The workflow operates in two main phases. First, for document ingestion, it continuously monitors a specified Google Drive folder for new or updated files. When a change is detected, the document is downloaded, segmented into manageable chunks by the Recursive Character Text Splitter, and then converted into numerical embeddings by Google Gemini. These embeddings are subsequently stored in a Pinecone vector index. Second, for AI Assistant Q&A, when an employee sends a chat message, an AI Agent, powered by Google Gemini and equipped with a Vector Store Tool, retrieves the most relevant document chunks from Pinecone. The agent uses this retrieved context to generate a concise and accurate answer, acting as a knowledgeable HR assistant.
