Automate RSS to Mastodon Publishing

This powerful n8n workflow takes the hassle out of content syndication by automatically publishing new entries from your RSS feed directly to your Mastodon account. Ideal for bloggers, news sites, or anyone looking to maintain a consistent presence on decentralized social media without manual intervention.

Key Features

  • Automatic RSS feed monitoring at configurable intervals.
  • Intelligent tracking prevents duplicate posts by remembering the last published item.
  • Seamless publishing of new article titles and links to your Mastodon account.
  • Increases content visibility and audience engagement on Mastodon with fresh updates.

How It Works

The workflow is triggered by a Cron node every 10 minutes, initiating the process. It then reads your specified RSS feed. A custom Function node intelligently compares the current feed items against a stored 'lastRssId' to identify only new, unprocessed entries. If new content is found, an IF node directs these items to an HTTP Request node, which constructs a post using the article's title and link, and publishes it to your Mastodon account using your access token. If no new items are found, the workflow gracefully completes without action via a NoOp node.
