How It Works
1. Policy Ingestion: The workflow starts by fetching all relevant PDF documents (e.g., company handbook, 401k policy, expense policy) from your BambooHR account. These documents are then split into manageable chunks, embedded using OpenAI, and stored in a Supabase vector database, creating a searchable knowledge base. 2. Chatbot Interaction: When an employee initiates a conversation, the AI Agent (powered by OpenAI and LangChain) processes the query. It retrieves relevant information from the Supabase vector store (company policies) and intelligently decides when to use a dedicated "Employee Lookup Tool." 3. Dynamic Employee Lookup: The "Employee Lookup Tool" is a sub-workflow that connects to BambooHR. It can accurately search for an employee's details (job title, department, supervisor) by name or identify the most senior person within a specified department (e.g., HR, IT) if a direct contact is needed for escalation. 4.
